General (excluding T-Ball, Farm and Junior (A)-Softball)
No more than 3 coaches on the field at any time
Only the Head Coach is allowed to discuss issues with the umpire
Infractions of Rules, i.e., Pitch Count infractions, behavioral issues, etc. to be reviewed by NW Baseball Disciplinary Board and action taken
Umpires
Coaches should NOT be making Safe/Out Calls before the umpire does
Coaches should NOT be saying “Good Eye” before the ball crosses home plate
Umpires CAN NOT be questioned on judgement calls (balls, strikes, out or safe calls)
Jr. Umpires – Minors and AA Softball Only but good info for Majors as well
Jr. Umpires should be treated with the same respect as Certified Umpires
These are “kids” volunteering their time for the league. Yes, they do get paid, but…
Coaches need to have the umpires back. They will make mistakes! If they make an incorrect call on a rule (not a judgement call such as balls/strikes and out or safe calls), the Head Coach should ask for time out and discuss it calmly. Include the opposing Head Coach in the discussion.
Parents and Coaches are not allowed to harass the umpire. The League has a Zero Tolerance Policy. If one of your parents is “barking” at the umpire, you need to pull them aside and tell them they need to stop. If an opposing team’s parent is doing it, ask their coach to do the same.
Certified Umpires are not an option for Minors and AA-Softball regular season
Maybe playoffs and Softball Allstars
Farm/A-Softball

USA Baseball Bat Rule
All bats must be USA Baseball approved and have the new stamp
All old bats should be removed from all Team and Player bags prior to or at the First Practice
Change in rules on number of players to start a game:
Must have a minimum of 8 players to start. The 9th position in the batting order will be an out. All players arriving after the game has started must go at the bottom of the batting order. If a player leaves after the game has started due to injury, etc. their position in the order will be skipped, not an out. If line-up drops to 7, the team forfeits the game
